Cosori, a popular home appliance brand, has recalled two million air fryers in the United States due to a dangerous fire hazard. The recall, announced by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), includes 14 models of air fryers sold under the Cosori and Atekcity brands.
The recall comes after Cosori received over 100 reports of air fryers overheating, smoking, or catching fire, resulting in minor injuries and property damage. The faulty air fryers were sold online and in stores across the US from October 2019 through January 2023, and the affected models have batch codes that begin with 211, 212, 213, 214, 215, or 216.
The CPSC has advised consumers to stop using the recalled air fryers immediately and contact Cosori for a free repair or replacement. Cosori has also set up a website to help consumers identify whether their air fryer is affected by the recall.
Cosori has apologized for the inconvenience caused and urged customers to take the recall seriously. The company has promised to improve its product safety procedures to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
The recall has sparked concern among consumers who have purchased air fryers from other brands, and some have expressed frustration at the slow response time from Cosori. However, the CPSC has assured consumers that they are closely monitoring the situation and taking action to ensure the safety of all products sold in the US.
This recall serves as a reminder of the importance of product safety and the potential risks posed by faulty home appliances. Consumers are advised to regularly check for product recalls and follow the instructions provided by manufacturers to ensure their safety and the safety of those around them.
