The Donorkind Foundation has filed a lawsuit against a 41-year-old Dutch man who is believed to have at least 550 children worldwide, exceeding the limit of 25 allowed under Dutch fertility laws. Donorkind, an organization that advocates for the rights of people born from artificial insemination, has sought injunctive relief to prevent the number of children from increasing further.
The man is being sued for breaching agreements with clinics and prospective parents, who relied on the fact that he would only have a maximum of 25 children. The lawsuit comes from the Netherlands, where the law allows a maximum of 25 offspring in fertility treatments or to help a maximum of 12 families to avoid incest, psychological, and inbreeding problems.
The man, whose name is Jonathan M., had already been the subject of attention in 2017, when it was discovered that he fathered at least 102 children in 11 different clinics. He used several selected websites to maintain his anonymity and escape the clinics’ filters, in addition to deceiving all the women who required artificial insemination and used his donation.
Jonathan M. acted in this way in order to achieve the number of offspring attributed to him, even lying about the number of his children when talking to mothers in other countries around the world.
In short, Donorkind has sued a Dutch man for having at least 550 children through sperm donation, which exceeds the limit allowed by Dutch law of 25 children.
The lawsuit has been filed to prevent the number of children from increasing further and to hold the man accountable for violating agreements with clinics and prospective parents. Jonathan M. used several websites to maintain his anonymity and escape the clinics’ filters, and he deceived women who required artificial insemination and used his donation.
