The owner of a funeral home in Mexico City has been arrested and is being investigated for his alleged involvement in the forced disappearance of a man who sold him a motorcycle last week. The Mexican capital’s Attorney General’s Office reported the case.
According to reports, the victim arrived at the Mausoleos del Centro funeral home, located in the Santa María Malinalco neighborhood in the Azcapotzalco district, to sell his motorcycle to the owner of the business, identified as Erick N. After selling the motorcycle for 50,000 pesos ($2,926), the victim called his family to tell them he was going home. However, he never arrived home.
Concerned, a relative of the man went to the funeral home for information and discovered the victim’s backpack and helmet. He then left the scene and contacted the police.
The Investigative Police and the Prosecutor’s Office conducted a search of the funeral home and found clothing and other personal items belonging to the missing man. As a result, Erick ‘N’ was arrested and transferred to the Reclusorio Preventivo Varonil Norte, where he was remanded before a judge.
The investigation continues to clarify the facts and determine the responsibility of the funeral home owner for the man’s disappearance. Forced disappearance is a serious crime, and the authorities are working to solve this case and provide justice to the victim and his family.
