Gypsy Rose Blanchard, recently freed after over eight years in prison for her mother’s murder, offered a glimpse into her married life through a supportive Instagram comment defending her husband, Ryan Scott Anderson. The couple tied the knot in 2022 while Gypsy was still incarcerated, and they’ve been dealing with public scrutiny since her release last week.
Responding to negative comments on one of Anderson’s Instagram posts, Gypsy advised her husband not to pay attention to the haters, asserting that they don’t owe anyone anything. In a bold move, she added a reference to their intimate life, stating, “Yeah, I said it; the D is fire.”
Anderson, a special education teacher from Louisiana, picked Gypsy up from prison in Missouri, aiming to treat her to a romantic night out, including making gumbo for her—an experience she missed during her time behind bars.
Their relationship started after Anderson watched the HBO documentary “Mommy Dead and Dearest” about Gypsy’s case in 2017. He wrote her a letter in 2020, and the two got married in 2022.
Living with Anderson marks a new chapter for Gypsy, who, as a victim of Munchausen by proxy, has never shared a home with a man. She expressed her uncertainty, stating, “I don’t even know what it’s like to live with a man” since she grew up without a father in the house.
The couple’s journey, complicated by Gypsy’s notorious past, continues to be a subject of public interest and scrutiny.
