A woman has been charged with kidnapping in relation to the abduction of Elnaz Hajtamiri, who has been missing since January 12, 2022. Ontario Provincial Police have announced that Krystal P. Lawrence, a 30-year-old woman from Brampton, has been arrested and charged with kidnapping. She has been released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in court in Collingwood, Ontario, on May 2. Hajtamiri was allegedly forcibly taken from a relative’s house in Wasaga Beach, Ontario, by three masked men dressed in fake police gear. Investigators believe she was driven away in a white, 2016–2022-model Lexus RX 350 SUV. She has not been seen or heard from since.
Hajtamiri’s ex-boyfriend, Mohamad Lilo of Brossard, Quebec, was previously charged with kidnapping in connection with her abduction, as well as attempted murder and attempted kidnapping in relation to a previous assault on her. Police have also issued an arrest warrant for 35-year-old Toronto man Deshawn Davis and are trying to identify a second man, who was previously shown in photos released by investigators as being linked to the case.
The Ontario Provincial Police have been investigating Hajtamiri’s disappearance for months and have made several appeals for information. This recent arrest is a significant development in the case. The investigation is ongoing, and the police continue to urge anyone with information to come forward.
