Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba has called on Latin American countries to support Kyiv in the conflict with Russia and reject the Russian special military operation.
During a visit to Guatemala, Kuleba urged Latin American countries to follow the example of Guatemala, which has condemned the aggression in Ukraine. He criticized the position of some governments in the region that prefer to remain neutral in the conflict or consider it an exclusively European problem.
The minister affirmed that maintaining a neutral attitude only promotes Russian aggression and called on Latin American countries to take a firm stance in support of Ukraine.
Kuleba made this visit to Latin America, the first by a Ukrainian foreign minister in ten years, as part of his participation in a summit of the Association of Caribbean States in Guatemala.
In an article published in RBC Ukraine, the minister highlighted that Ukraine has much to offer Latin American countries, including food, specialist training services, and digital technology.
With this visit and his statements, Kuleba seeks to generate greater support and solidarity in Latin America towards Ukraine in its conflict with Russia while highlighting the potential areas of cooperation and benefits that can arise from a closer relationship between Ukraine and the countries of the Latin American region.
