Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Ganna Maliar announced on social networks that Ukrainian forces have recaptured the locality of Piatijatki on the southern front. So far this month, a total of eight localities have been liberated as part of a counteroffensive against Russian forces, resulting in the recapture of 113 square kilometers of territory.
On the southern front, Ukrainian troops managed to advance up to seven kilometers inside Russian positions, the official reported. As for the eastern front, Maliar mentioned that the overall intensity of fighting decreased last week and that the Ukrainian army has made advances in several directions, although he did not provide further details.
Separately, the Ukrainian military reported that it shot down four Kalibr-type missiles and four Iranian-made explosive drones launched by Russia overnight. These missile strikes were carried out from a submarine in the Black Sea, while the drones were launched from the east coast of the Sea of Azov, the military source said.
These advances and defensive actions show Ukraine’s response to Russian aggression and its determination to regain control of the occupied areas. The situation on the frontlines remains tense, and the conflict is far from being resolved, but Ukrainian forces continue to resist and conduct operations to regain territory and protect the integrity of their country.
