Police have reported that one person is dead and at least four others have been injured after a shooting in the North Beach area of San Francisco. According to the SFPD, the shooting occurred just before 11 p.m. Sunday at Broadway and Columbus Avenue. There is no information on the condition of the four wounded.
Several witnesses who were at nearby businesses describe hearing between four and six gunshots, only to find at least two victims outside. By 4:45 a.m., police had cleared the scene, but a portion of Columbus was closed overnight, and police caution tape was in place outside the Condor Club at 560 Broadway.
Employees there stress that the shooting did not occur at the club but that they quickly went outside to help after hearing gunshots. They found a woman who appeared to have been shot multiple times and carried her inside the club until paramedics and police arrived.
Others who were in the area described seeing another victim, who appeared to be more seriously injured, lying in the street. It appeared that this victim had died from his injuries, but police have not released information about the victim who was shot and died.
