“The first episode will be available on X-video,” Musk announced on the X platform, adding that all profits generated would be donated to organizations dedicated to supporting war veterans. In response, Zuckerberg spoke out on his own platform, Threads by Meta, which directly rivals X, assuring that he was “prepared for today.” Meta’s CEO proposed that the broadcast take place on “a more reliable platform that can effectively raise funds” for charity.
Since the launch of Threads in early July, competing directly with X and with 120 million users, according to Quiver Quantitative, Zuckerberg and Musk have been involved in both friendly and challenging exchanges. In June, Musk posted on his account his readiness for an MMA-style matchup, to which Zuckerberg responded on Instagram with a screenshot of Musk’s message, followed by the phrase “Tell me the location.”
This exchange triggered a wave of reactions on social media as well as bets on who could be the winner, with Zuckerberg emerging as the favorite. These two prominent tech entrepreneurs have opposing approaches in various areas, from politics to artificial intelligence.
The rivalry between them has increased considerably with the arrival of a possible direct competitor on Twitter. After acquiring the platform now called X for $44 billion, Musk implemented massive layoffs at the company and again allowed conspiratorial accounts on the network, leading to a decline in advertising revenue.
