A man was arrested on Saturday for allegedly attempting to break into Taylor Swift’s New York City apartment in Tribeca. The New York Police Department received a call about a “disorderly person” on Franklin Street, and upon arrival, it was reported that the individual tried to open a door to a building at the location. While the police did not confirm the target of the break-in, a witness claims to have seen the suspect attempting to enter Taylor Swift’s residence.
The witness mentioned observing the individual around 1 p.m., approaching Taylor’s door, and attempting to gain access. The same person had reportedly been lingering in the neighborhood for a few weeks, exhibiting concerning behavior such as sleeping on the stoop, shouting, and making residents uncomfortable. The witness recalled the individual stating, “I want to see Taylor” when asked about his presence before Christmas.
Despite multiple calls to the police, action was taken only when the man attempted to enter the building. He was arrested peacefully, with no resistance, and is currently in custody due to an unrelated warrant. Taylor Swift’s representatives have not yet commented on the incident.
This is not the first time Swift has faced stalking incidents. In 2019, another individual was arrested for attempting to break into her Tribeca residence, while in 2022, a man named Joshua Christian was arrested for allegedly stalking Swift across multiple states.
