Italian luxury fashion house Dolce & Gabbana took center stage at Milan Fashion Week, showcasing a predominantly black and white collection that elegantly deconstructed the classic tuxedo, offering a striking array of dresses and suits for the upcoming spring season.
Titled “Woman,” the show made a bold statement from the start, featuring a model donning a dark pinstripe jacket paired with hot pants and stockings. This set the tone for the collection, which included asymmetrical black chiffon polka-dot dresses, many adorned with charming bows tied at the neckline.
Designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana explored a range of styles, showcasing models in alluring see-through black lace dresses and black jackets paired with micro shorts. Slim, ankle-cropped trouser suits added a touch of sophistication to the collection.
The design duo played with tuxedo aesthetics, transforming jackets into one-shouldered dresses or cropping them for a contemporary twist. Some ensembles featured white collars or incorporated details reminiscent of white tuxedo shirts.
A selection of all-white suits, jackets, and lace dresses also graced the runway, accompanied by playful dabs of leopard print on shiny macs and dresses.
Throughout the collection, Dolce and Gabbana added their signature touch, embellishing outfits with bows, ruffles, and intricate floral embroidery. Models completed their looks with small handbags and either stilettos or flat thigh-high black boots.
As Milan Fashion Week, known for its industry heavyweights like Giorgio Armani, Versace, Gucci, and Prada, draws to a close, Dolce & Gabbana’s SS24 collection stands out as a striking and stylish addition, celebrating the timeless charm of monochrome fashion.
