The cast and crew of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” introduced new characters like Adam Warlock, revealed the origin of Rocket, shared fun stories, and more on the red carpet. Ahead of the film’s May 5 premiere, the cast and crew of Marvel Studios stopped in Los Angeles for the star-studded premiere on the red carpet. Director and writer James Gunn joined stars Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Bradley Cooper (Rocket), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Vin Diesel (Groot), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Will Poulter (Adam Warlock), and others for a night full of revelations about the latest installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” fans will meet new characters such as Adam Warlock, played by Will Poulter, and High Evolutionary, played by Chukwudi Iwuji. Poulter mentioned that he is honored to be invited into this family and hopes that people will like his character and enjoy his journey. Simon Hatt, executive producer, revealed that Adam Warlock is a fan favorite character and that they had always wanted to include him in one of the films. Elizabeth Debicki, who plays Ayesha, said that part of her character’s journey is to learn as she goes along.
Chukwudi Iwuji warned that her character, the High Evolutionary, is not a good person and is the scariest villain the Guardians have ever faced. Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, spoke about the additions of Adam Warlock and High Evolutionary, noting that Warlock has been in discussion since the first Guardians movie and that they were excited to introduce Adam Warlock in this installment.
In addition to Adam Warlock and High Evolutionary, there will also be other new characters in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Miriam Shor will play Recorder Vim, a villainous character, and Nathan Fillion will play Master Karja, a character with armed authority. Tara Strong revealed that she also has a role in the film, although she did not reveal who it is.
James Gunn has big plans for Rocket in this movie and will reveal his origin story. According to Gunn, Rocket was his creative input for the Guardians, and his sad story has been the basis for the entire franchise. Bradley Cooper praised Gunn’s plan and shared his enthusiasm for his character’s development. Gunn explained that Rocket is the character that has allowed the Guardians movies to have a solid emotional foundation and that completing Rocket’s story was very important to him.
Vin Diesel revealed a little secret: he has a special script that translates Groot’s iconic lines. Diesel is the only one in the world to have this script, which includes a line of dialogue for every “I am Groot.” Diesel praised James Gunn for writing the script in a way that allowed him to express all of Groot’s emotions.
