A 30-year-old Brazilian businessman, single and childless, who is facing a serious illness, has decided to name footballer Neymar Junior as the sole heir to his fortune, according to reports from Brazilian media Metropoles.
The man, who preferred to keep his identity anonymous, explained that his health condition is not optimal and he feels a strong identification with the Paris Saint-Germain star, especially due to the relationship Neymar has with his father. He commented that, at almost 31 years old, he realized that he had no one to leave his possessions to in the event of his death.
Although he has been questioned for choosing a public figure with a large fortune as a beneficiary, the businessman believes that Neymar is not a self-interested person. He is attracted to the soccer player’s personality, identifies with him, and shares the experience of being defamed. In addition, he highlights the relationship with his father, which reminds him of his own, who has already passed away. He considers that Neymar is not driven by personal interests, something he considers unusual nowadays.
The businessman also expressed his desire not to leave his possessions to the government or to relatives with whom he does not have a good relationship. Although he tried to send the will to Neymar, he was unsuccessful in his attempts. He also mentioned that he has some family objects and belongings that he would like to inherit along with his fortune.
The decision to designate Neymar as heir has generated surprise and debate, but the businessman justifies his choice based on his personal affinity with the footballer and his perception of his character.
