Christie’s Auction House is set to showcase the largest internally flawless fancy vivid blue diamond ever offered for auction. Known as “Bleu Royal,” this exquisite gem, set in a ring, is expected to fetch up to $50 million at the rare jewels sale in Geneva on November 7. Rahul Kadakia, Christie’s international head of jewelry, emphasized the diamond’s rarity, citing its impressive size of 17.6 carats and its rich natural color, making it a truly exceptional find.
“Bleu Royal” has garnered significant attention worldwide, with Christie’s hoping it will surpass the record set by the “Oppenheimer Blue,” a 14.6-carat blue diamond sold for over $57 million in 2016. The diamond’s international tour, including stops in Asia, the US, and Europe, has generated substantial interest among collectors.
In addition to this remarkable diamond, Christie’s will host an online auction from November 3–16, featuring iconic items such as a pearl necklace worn by Audrey Hepburn in the final scene of the 1953 movie “Roman Holiday,” priced at a reasonable $20,000 to $30,000. The auction also presents a Rolex wristwatch worn by Marlon Brando in the 1979 film “Apocalypse Now,” engraved with his signature and valued between 1 million and 2 million Swiss francs.
Christie’s continues to capture the essence of Hollywood glamour and rare gems, offering collectors a chance to own pieces of cinematic and historical significance.
