In Mexico, an accident occurred on the Texcoco-Lechería high-speed highway, and Norma Angélica Loguero, a nurse at the Mexican Social Security Institute, witnessed the incident and decided to stop her car to assist the victims. Her quick intervention saved the lives of the driver and an elderly woman who was a passenger, local media reported.
Loguero was on his way home to take care of his sick daughter when he witnessed the accident. A car had crashed into the crash barrier after colliding with a hit-and-run truck. Without hesitation, the nurse went over to help the injured.
Loguero first stopped the driver’s bleeding using duct tape and then attended to the elderly woman in the back seat. He examined her and placed her in a neck brace to immobilize her. Once the situation was under control and rescue teams arrived on the scene, Loguero provided them with information about the injured and headed home to take care of his sick daughter.
After the incident, social media users began searching for Loguero, as he had not left his name with the injured, to thank him for his brave action. Hours later, a local newscast managed to locate the nurse and interview her.
Loguero stated, “Without thinking, I helped. I know that God’s timing is perfect.” She also mentioned that she feels that the vocation to help others has always been present in her life. With humility, she expressed that there are still good people in the world and that, regardless of whether she is recognized or not, she will always be willing to help others.
