Ukrainian President Volodymir Zelensky has rejected Russia’s accusations of being behind the alleged drone attack on the Kremlin. Zelensky has stated that Ukraine is fighting on its own territory and defending its cities, and that they do not have the means to attack Russia. He has also pointed out that Russia needs to motivate its society after having no victories in the war in Ukraine and that it is manipulating the situation. Zelensky has advocated leaving the matter in the hands of an international court investigating crimes in the framework of the war in Ukraine.
For her part, the Ukrainian deputy defense minister has claimed that Moscow wants to keep society in fear and called the alleged drones “troublemakers” that pose no real threat. Ukraine’s presidential aide had also previously denied Kyiv’s involvement in the incident.
The Kremlin had denounced the alleged attempted attack on President Putin by two drones that had been shot down near the presidential headquarters building. Russia has accused Ukraine of being behind the attack and has promised a forceful response. However, Ukraine’s Western allies have cast doubt on Russia’s accusations.
