Since Elon Musk’s arrival at Twitter in October 2022, the social network has undergone major changes in its structure and operation, as well as in its workforce. After the massive layoffs in the early days, the restructuring has continued, and one of the dismissals that has caused the biggest stir on social networks has been that of Esther Crawford, who went viral by sleeping in the offices to comply with the South African tycoon’s demands.
Crawford, who was head of product and head of verifications for the new Twitter Blue, was delighted at the time to comply with the marathon working hours, claiming that it was the only way to be able to reach everything and everyone with professionalism. Her Twitter adventure, however, has come to an end, as she herself has announced via her Twitter profile.
Although the details of the dismissal are not known, it has attracted attention because of Crawford’s trajectory in the company. Musk’s arrival has plunged Twitter into a permanent cycle of uncertainty, with significant changes in its operation and access, and with script twists by the tycoon and his team to try to make profitable a platform for which he paid $44 billion.

The departure of Esther Crawford is just one of the many moves that have taken place since the South African tycoon took the reins of the company.
