Gerard Piqué, former Barcelona player and owner of FC Andorra, has received a surprising offer from the world’s leading extramarital dating platform, Ashley Madison. The Canadian company has offered a sponsorship deal of one million euros a year for three years to Piqué’s club in exchange for its logo appearing on his jersey and other advertising media. Ashley Madison has explained that, following Piqué’s recent romantic breakup with singer Shakira, its platform could be a “perfect ally” for FC Andorra.
The contract would include a bonus of 50,000 euros for each player in the Andorran squad who confirms that he maintains a non-monogamous relationship and a bonus of 150,000 euros for those who publicly admit to maintaining non-monogamous relationships and who used Ashley Madison to find them.
Ashley Madison, which “bets on new ways of loving in which all kinds of non-monogamous bonds are included,” considers that FC Andorra can be a good sponsor for being owned by Piqué, who has recently suffered an infidelity discovered by Shakira.
The most curious clause in the contract is the one referring to non-monogamous relationships, which has led some to question the ethics of the offer. Piqué has not yet given his response to Ashley Madison’s proposal and is expected to make a decision before March 15, 2023.
