Sony and Marvel have released the new trailer for the upcoming animated Spider-Man movie, which aims to take us on a vacation through the multiverse this summer.
If you’re a Spider-Man fan, you’re probably still feeling a void after watching Spider-Man: No Way Home. Fortunately, Sony Pictures will remedy that this summer with the release of Spider-Man: Across the Multiverse.
Miles Morales is back in action with the sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, the 2018 film that snatched an Oscar from Pixar thanks to its “whatever I feel like” style and breakneck pace.
Although Spider-Man: Across the Multiverse was expected to hit theaters earlier, Sony postponed the film until early June to get it as polished as possible. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller return as screenwriters on this new animated Spider-Man movie. This time, they join forces with Dave Callaham to write the story.
As you can see in the new trailer for the sequel, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Miles Morales will have more than one problem reconnecting with the “spider-people” of other realities.
While the character voiced by Shameik Moore is reunited with familiar faces like Spider-Gwen (Hailee Steinfeld), other characters with Spider-Man’s powers, such as Spider-Man 2099 (Oscar Isaac), are not as cooperative as Miles would like.
Spider-Man: Across the Multiverse will include characters like Jessica Drew, aka Spider-Woman, voiced by Issa Rae, or Karan Soni as Spider-Man India (Pavitr Prabhakar).
Although the 2018 film left the bar very high, Sony and Marvel have pulled out all the stops to make this sequel live up to expectations.
Spider-Man: Across the Multiverse will hit theaters on June 2, 2023.
