The director of the Puy du Fou Spain theme park, Erwan de la Villéon, has urged Toledo’s hotel businessmen to invest in the construction of more hotel beds due to the lack of bed availability in the city. During a press conference to present the new season, De la Villéon affirmed that “there is a lack of beds” to accommodate all the visitors that pass through the park and urged businessmen to increase the supply of beds in the city.
Despite this, the park director clarified that they have no plans to build their own accommodations, as is the case at the original Puy du Fou park in France. According to De la Villéon, many people visit the park and then cannot stay in Toledo, which prevents them from enjoying the city. He also pointed out that 80% of the park’s visitors also visit the city, which is a jewel and a beautiful sleeper. Therefore, he called on businessmen to build more hotels in the city.
The Puy du Fou Spain theme park has recently presented its new season, which will start on April 1 and has the goal of exceeding 1.1 million visitors. In addition, it has invested in a new big show, “The Mystery of Sorbaces,” inspired by Recaredo, the Visigoth king whose crown was never found.
The park has made a capital increase of 32 million euros and has increased its investment forecast in the city of Toledo to more than 70 million for this decade, due to its success in attracting visitors season after season. De la Villéon stressed that the park “requires” that investment and that the artistic team is already working on the next big shows.
In addition, the park plans to expand the new Villanueva del Corral village, and turn it into a large gastronomic space, and design “a great immersive show” for visitors in 2026.
The presentation of the park’s new season was attended by important political and business figures, such as the Mayor of Madrid and the Councilor Delegate for Tourism, among others.
