A Texas man has been arrested for breaking into a home in Redmond, Washington, and fatally shooting a podcaster and her husband in the early hours of Friday morning. The couple, identified as Zohreh Sadeghi, 33, and Milad Naseri, 35, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The gunman, identified as Ramin Khodakaramrezaei, had been stalking Sadeghi, who appeared on an audio stream on the social media app Clubhouse. According to the police, Khodakaramrezaei first discovered Sadeghi after listening to a Farsi audio stream about gaining employment in the tech industry. They eventually became friends, but his actions escalated, and she sought a no-contact order against him.
Khodakaramrezaei had broken into the couple’s home through a bedroom window before fatally shooting the couple and finally himself. The tragedy has left the community in shock and prompted discussions around the dangers of online interactions. The couple’s deaths are a painful reminder of the dangers that can arise from online connections and how the ease of online communication can sometimes mask the true intentions of others.
