Space exploration has always been a challenging task for mankind, but in recent years, NASA has been working on a program that seeks to mark a milestone in the history of space exploration: the Artemis program.
The Artemis program aims to take astronauts to the lunar surface and, in the future, to the surface of Mars. Joseph Ahaba, NASA’s chief astronaut, has assured that mankind will see things never seen before thanks to this program.
The Artemis 1 mission was launched in November 2021 and lasted 25 days, orbiting the moon without a crew. In December of the same year, it successfully returned to Earth. The Artemis 2 mission, which will have a crew composed of different astronauts, is scheduled for 2024.
The Artemis III program will be a manned mission that will advance the study of the surface of the moon and, later, the surface of Mars. NASA is expected to have astronauts with expertise in different branches and subjects to form a team that can carry out the necessary tasks and ensure the success of the program.
