The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have returned, this time with a fresh look and the release of the first trailer for the upcoming film, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, produced by Paramount Pictures and Seth Rogen.
This reboot marks the second fully animated big-screen adventure for the Turtle brothers and introduces a new animation style that has drawn comparisons to recent Spider-Man animations.
The story follows the Turtle brothers as they emerge from years of seclusion in the sewers and strive to win the hearts of New Yorkers, hoping to be accepted as normal teenagers through their heroic deeds. With the help of their new friend, April O’Neil, they take on a mysterious crime syndicate. However, they find themselves in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.
As previously announced, the voice cast includes Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Nicolas Cantu, and Brady Noon as Donatello, Michelangelo, Leonardo, and Raphael, respectively. The cast also features Jackie Chan as Master Splinter, Ayo Edebiri as April O’Neil, Seth Rogen as Bebop, John Cena as Rocksteady, Hannibal Buress as Genghis Frog, Rose Byrne as Leatherhead, Ice Cube as Superfly, Natasia Demetriou as Wingnut, Giancarlo Esposito as Baxter Stockman, Post Malone as Ray Fillet, Paul Rudd as Mondo Gecko, and Maya Rudolph as Cynthia Utrom.
Mutant Mayhem, presented by Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies in association with Point Grey Production, is produced by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, and James Weaver, with Ramsay McBean and Josh Fagen serving as executive producers. Based on the characters created by Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman, the film is directed by Jeff Rowe, with co-direction by Kyler Spears.
