The shares of Manchester United increased by 18% in the pre-market of the US stock exchange due to the alleged interest of investors from Qatar in the club. Currently, the team is owned by the American Glazer family, which also owns the Tampa Bay Buccaneers American football team.

The British owner of the INEOS cycling team, Jim Ratcliffe, has been mentioned and has made an offer for Chelsea.The Minister of Sports of Saudi Arabia, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, said in an interview with the BBC last year that his government would support a potential offer for Manchester United or Liverpool.
It is expected that the offer could exceed 6 billion pounds, equivalent to approximately $7.25 billion. The market capitalization of Manchester United does not exceed $3.5 billion. Its net debt as of September last year was $639 million, meaning its current acquisition value is estimated to be around $4.1 billion.
