The specialized magazine Deadline exclusively announced that Lionel Messi, player of the Argentine national team and winner of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, will have his own animated series. The project will be produced by Sony Music Entertainment in collaboration with Leo Messi Management and is aimed at children and teenagers. Messi expressed his happiness at being able to participate in an animation project, as he has always loved animated series and his children are big fans of animated characters.
The series will show the soccer player as a child and the obstacles he faces as he travels through a video game. It will be produced in English, Spanish, and other languages and feature original music from Sony artists and composers yet to be announced.
This will be the first animated series created by Sony Music Entertainment, a company that in the past has produced documentaries such as “Pearl Jam 20” and “Cypress Hill: Insane in the Brain.” Fernando Cabral, a Sony executive, considers it a privilege for the company to have the opportunity to portray the strength and lessons of the sport thanks to Messi, who was elected the best player of 2022 by FIFA. It is worth noting that Messi is the player with the highest number of games played in different World Cups and the only one to win the Ballon d’Or seven times, according to the French magazine France Football.
