Harrison Ford led the group of celebrities on the third day of the Cannes Film Festival as he prepared for the highly anticipated world debut of his latest film, “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.” The 80-year-old Hollywood icon donned a dark-toned checked shirt and trousers, striking a pose beside a tuk-tuk, a vehicle that features prominently in the fifth installment of the beloved adventure series.
Scheduled to have its world premiere on Thursday at the prestigious French festival, the film marks Ford’s return as the globetrotting archaeologist, more than four decades after his iconic portrayal in the 1981 classic, “Raiders of the Lost Ark.” In recognition of his illustrious and successful career in the entertainment industry, Cannes will also pay tribute to Ford during the event.
Joining Ford at the film’s photocall was Phoebe Waller-Bridge, renowned for her role in “Fleabag,” who portrays Helena Shaw, Indiana Jones’ goddaughter, in the upcoming movie. Waller-Bridge opted for a sleek, white tailored suit with a plunging neckline and matching heels, exuding elegance and style.
As they basked in the sunny weather on the picturesque French Riviera, both Ford and Waller-Bridge occasionally sported sunglasses, adding to their charismatic allure. The duo was accompanied by an impressive ensemble cast, including Mads Mikkelsen, Toby Jones, and Antonio Banderas, further enhancing the star-studded nature of the film.
Set to hit cinemas on June 28, the new Indiana Jones installment continues the legacy of previous sequels such as “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” (1984), “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” (1989), and “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” (2008). Fans eagerly anticipate the latest chapter in the timeless adventures of the intrepid archaeologist, promising another thrilling cinematic experience.
