Swedish activist Greta Thunberg announced on her Twitter account that her book The Climate Book is now available in bookstores in the United States and Canada. This manual, which has the collaboration of more than 100 experts in the field, aims to provide a guide for activism and address the different climate crises facing the planet, seeking to establish relationships between the environment, sustainability, and indigenous populations, among other issues.
The book includes compelling stories of change, action, and resilience, as well as contributions from renowned scientists and writers such as Margaret Atwood, Amitav Ghosh, Saleemul Huq, and Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
Penguin Random House assures that the book also contains the author’s personal experiences, including her learning, manifestation, and discovery of greenwashing around the world.
Thunberg also explained that she will not receive financial benefit from sales of the book, as the copyright belongs to the non-profit Greta Thunberg Foundation and all royalties will go to charity.
Greta Thunberg has become an emblematic figure in the fight against climate change since she started skipping classes once a week to protest against this problem, which led to a series of school strikes and a youth movement. Despite being chosen as Time magazine’s 2018 Personality of the Year, Thunberg has also faced controversy and confrontation, such as when she was arrested during a protest in Germany in January. Now in her 20s, she has published other books, including “Our House Is On Fire” and “No One Is Too Small to Make a Difference.”
