During the last week, the Valencian Community has experienced an increase in the number of cases of COVID-19, as reported by the Regional Ministry of Health. A total of 665 new infections have been confirmed, which have been detected through PCR or antigen testing since the last update on Friday. These new cases of coronavirus by province are 79 in Castellón (with a total of 196,195 confirmed cases), 200 in Alicante (with a total of 536,144 confirmed cases), 384 in Valencia (with a total of 854,079 confirmed cases), and 2 unassigned.
Among the new infections, 360 cases have been reported in persons over 60 years of age, with 47 in Castellón, 141 in Alicante, and 172 in Valencia. Regarding the hospital situation in the Valencian Community, there are a total of 163 people admitted due to the coronavirus, of whom 10 are in the ICU. By province, 25 people are admitted in Castellón with 1 in ICU, 56 in Alicante with 1 in ICU, and 82 in Valencia with 8 in ICU.
In addition, since the last update, a total of nine coronavirus-related deaths have been reported, all with dates of death within the last seven days. Of these deaths, four are women between the ages of 60 and 92, while the other five are men between the ages of 63 and 97. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the total number of deaths in the Valencian Community is 10,412, with 1,255 in Castellón, 3,951 in Alicante, and 5,206 in Valencia.
