Last week, it was revealed that one of the accused in the Cecilia Strzyzowski case confessed that he and Cesar Sena, the victim’s boyfriend, threw her lifeless body into a river. Argentine forensic authorities have analyzed the crushed bones recovered from a river in Chaco province. Cecilia Strzyzowski, a 28-year-old Argentinean woman who was last seen on June 1, is suspected to have been the victim of femicide by her partner, César Sena.
The communiqué of the Special Prosecution Team, in charge of the investigation, published by the Judiciary of the Province of Chaco states that the bone samples analyzed belong to a single adult person, although it was not possible to determine the sex, the precise age, or the cause of death due to the fact that they are in fragments and calcined. The interdisciplinary report, prepared by a team of medical and forensic science institutes from Chaco, Cordoba, and Corrientes, indicates that the analyzed material will be subjected to a genetic analysis to make comparisons with the genetic profile of Cecilia’s relatives.
The skeletal remains were found on June 20 by Chaco Police tactical divers in the Tragadero River, near the Emerenciano neighborhood, which is owned and managed by the family of the main suspect. Forensic experts determined that the bones correspond to the phalanges of a hand and a foot. A cross-shaped pendant similar to the one the victim used to wear was also recovered during the search.
In addition, this Tuesday, a blood stain was discovered on a mattress that Cesar Sena’s family allegedly gave to a neighbor in the Emerenciano neighborhood four days after the alleged femicide. Analysis revealed that an attempt had been made to clean the blood stain. The mattress and other furniture were taken from César’s parents’ residence in a moving truck, and it is being investigated whether the blood found corresponds to a woman and if it matches the victim’s genetic profile.
According to investigators, there is a belief that Strzyzowski may have been murdered by hanging in the Sena’s house, and then her body was dismembered or crushed and her remains were deposited in different places.
Last week, Gustavo Obregón, one of the accused and a collaborator of Emerenciano Sena, confessed that he and César Sena threw the lifeless body of Cecilia Strzyzowski into a river.
