With four games left in the Spanish La Liga season, Real Betis are still keeping alive their hopes of qualifying for the next edition of the Champions League after beating Rayo Vallecano 3-1 on Monday.
The Andalusian side’s goals came from Frenchman Youssouf Sabaly in the 4th minute, Ayoze Perez in the 43rd minute, and Borja Iglesias in the 95th minute, while Rayo Vallecano pulled one back with a goal from Santi Comesaña in the 51st minute.
Rayo Vallecano finished the match with one player less after the expulsion of Mario Suárez in stoppage time, in the 90+7th minute.
With this result, Betis moves into sixth place in the table with 55 points, seven points behind Real Sociedad, which is in fourth place and currently in the Champions League qualification zone. Villarreal, which is in fifth place with 57 points, is the other team involved in the fight for that position.
Betis is still fighting to achieve its goal of qualifying for the Champions League, and with this victory, it is getting closer to the qualification places, although it still has several crucial matches to play.
