Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that at least one person was killed and 15 others were injured in a Russian attack that hit a clinic in the east-central city of Dnipro. Zelensky shared this information via Telegram, where he posted a video showing severely damaged buildings and plumes of smoke billowing from them.
According to Zelensky, the facility attacked was a polyclinic, and rescue teams were working at the site to clear the rubble and rescue the victims. The Ukrainian president condemned the attack and stated that Russian terrorists once again demonstrated their nature as fighters against everything humane and honest.
Local media released videos showing rescuers helping people with facial injuries escape from the clinic through corridors filled with rubble.
Sergey Lisak, head of the regional military administration, also mentioned on Telegram that the region where Dnipro is located came under massive rocket and drone attacks overnight. As a result of the nighttime shelling, a fire broke out in a house, and damage was caused in other areas of the city.
This attack in Dnipro adds to the growing violence in the region, where Russia has been engaged in an invasion and armed conflict since February 2022. The situation continues to generate concern and suffering for the civilian population, as well as tensions between Ukraine and Russia.
